Public Vs. Private

Filed under: Education, General — admin @ 10:30 am

When you can afford to send your child to a good school, why not enroll him in a private school? The child will have the opportunity to have standardized kind of education and a more comfortable setting. But not all can afford to pay the tuition fee imposed by these schools. I myself was a graduate of a public school and now I am a manager in a restaurant. It is not where you got your education, it is how well you learn from that institution. They say some of the public school graduates excels more than the ones graduated from private schools since they are the ones who would like to get away from the poverty. And also private school students tends to get all what they want and thus resulting to complacency. But for me, it does not matter where you got your education as long as you gained all the knowledge needed to face life’s challenges. Private school has distinct advantages over public schools, no questions about that. But it is better to be in a public school rather than getting no education at all.

My son will be in college this coming school year. He was already enrolled in the course that he want and he already bought all the school supplies he will be needing. His father even gave him a car as a present when he graduated from high school. He will be a full time student. We will provide for all his needs until he get his degree. I remembered the time when I was in college. My parents could not afford to sent me to school so I needed to work so I could afford to sent myself to school. It was tough maintaining a regular school schedule and work after school hours. But due to hard work and a lot of endurance, I graduated with honors and I landed in a high paying job where I met my husband. It was a struggle on my part, there are many times, I go to school with an empty stomach. But all hard works pays and they pay good. I have worked hard, so my offsprings will not experience the same turmoil and the same hardship I underwent when I was in college.

I have been working as a regular employee in a magazine publication company. And each day, I would be in the same crowd of people. I then realize I wanted to do more than just pencil push the entire day. I wanted to be in a more dynamic environment. I was thinking of hospital works. Attending to patients, getting their vital signs, giving medications and other nursing job. But I do not want to be a doctor and do the operation or surgery, I just wanted to be there and extend my help. When I look online, I learned that there is this what they call nursing aide course. You got to study online about medical assiting or nusring aide. So that means, I do not need to let go of my day time job. The schedule was flexible and can easily fit my current lifestyle. So I enrolled in the course and I am now on my way to a more exciting and fulfilling carreer in a hospital setting.

Online Degree

I have been working as a regular employee in an airline company and every time there is an opening in a higher position, my name would always be in the candidates. But I never got any poistion higher than where I am now. There are many qualification needed to be met before the position can be handed down to an employee. And one of them is the educational attainment. I am a graduate of a four year course in college and that is enough for me to be hired in the company. But getting a higher position with that kind of educational attainment is weak. Most of the people being promoted either have a masteral degree or two diplomas under their belt. So I realize, I needed to do something about it. I needed to have a masteral degree but going back to the university won’t fit my schedule. So I have decided to do online study. Finding the right university online is easy and fast. Soon I was enrolling in a infamous university and I was on my way in getting the masteral degree I need.

Learning

Teaching as they say is a noble profession. I have been a grade school teacher for seven years until I was assigned to the high school department faculty. There wasn’t much changes, still the rush of youngblood only in a different level. I teach chemistry and physics. Two tough subjects that students dread. But once you get the grip on the basics the rest will be a piece of cake. Teaching is not all about teaching the student in a typical classroom setting. There a far more factors engulfing the profession. The moment a teacher get certified and have the license to teach, it will be the beginning of a noble career. A teacher will be vested with responsiblity and plays a roel model in and out of the school campus. There are a lot of expectations and code of conduct to portray. The second parents of every students. The molders of the new generations. No high paying job can be as challenging and as rewarding as the teaching profession.
